Worship Ministries

At worship services at Emmanuel, we make a point of remembering and reviewing what we know to be true about God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit in order to re-align our attitudes, thoughts, priorities, and actions around His Truth.   There are a wide variety of ways in which God’s Truths can be revealed, considered, and expressed on a Sunday morning, and Worship Ministries focuses on music, readings, drama, Scripture, art, and (in the near future) stories.

At this point at Emmanuel, the primary (and most organized!) way to be involved in this revelation and expression is through our Music Ministries:

Worship Teams (2nd service)

• We play current worship songs with a band (usually consisting of acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, percussion, piano, 3-4 vocalists
• Team members make a 10-month commitment to their team, and the months of July & August are the times when we have more flexibility to invite participation from a wider group of people.

Choir (1st service)

• Open to everyone
• Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30pm in the Sanctuary
• Choir runs from the end of September to the beginning of May
• Please contact Willie or Lin Wiebe (guitar@mts.net) if you are interested in joining the choir

Special Numbers & Instrumental Offertories (1st service)

Sound Technicians (both services)

Projection Technicians (both services)

Drama, Art, Video Production, and Story-Telling are – at this stage – very organic, and opportunities in these areas arise out of conversations initiated by participants with the Worship Minister.  We’re open to create more occasions for these to occur, but are awaiting for a stirring within individuals who have a passion and vision for these areas.
